President, WD Risk Management & Consulting
As President of WD Risk Management & Consulting, William directs the sales, marketing and client satisfaction efforts associated with delivering state of the art of risk management and consulting services. Clients include pubic and not for profit operations, private concerns and institutions of higher education.
William formerly served as the Northeast Director of Consulting Services for Bickmore Risk Services and Consulting (BRS). BRS is the largest, independent non-brokerage affiliated risk management consulting firm in the western US, and the second largest in the nation. BRS clients include both public and private entities nationwide. The firm offers risk management consulting, group formation and administration, actuarial, risk control, claims oversight and employment practices services. BRS is staffed with more than 120 professional and support staff, including credentialed safety professionals, experienced pool administration managers, CPAs, attorneys, actuaries, and certified workers' compensation professionals.
Prior to joining the BRS Team, William served as the Director of Sales for Eagle Claim Services. His primary responsibility was the creation and ongoing management of the firm’s first formal sales culture. All sales related activities to qualified prospective clients from both the public and private sector were the responsibility of Mr. DePersis.
Before joining Eagle, William was a Vice President for Marsh USA. William was the Public Entity Practice Leader for the Northeast Region. He served as a public entity / not-for-profit resource for all of the Marsh USA offices throughout the NE. He served as the information and expertise liaison between the local offices and the Marsh USA National Public Entity Practice. As a Client Executive, in Upstate for Marsh USA Inc, William had as his primary responsibility, sales and service to public sector and not-for-profit clients, including counties, cities, towns, school districts, special districts, authorities and community colleges. Additionally, William served as the head of the Marsh USA Upstate New York Environmental Practice. His primary role in this position is to assist the various sales and service representatives in identifying the appropriate local, regional and national Marsh resources necessary to assist clients in meeting their environmental insurance and risk management needs.
Before joining Marsh USA Inc, William was the Director of Risk Management for Onondaga County for nine years. Prior to Onondaga County, William served in the positions of Director of Safety and the Risk and Insurance Manager for the County of Broome.
William is a past President of the New York State Public Risk Managers Association (PRIMA). William has also served on the National PRIMA editorial board. He has spoken before regional and local conferences and seminars on the topic of public entity risk management as well as to college classes.
William received his degree in Business Administration from the School of Management at the State University of New York at Binghamton. William has earned the insurance industry Associates in Risk Management (ARM) designation from the Insurance Institute of America.
Debra S. DePersis
Administrative Assistant, WD Risk Management & Consulting
As Administrative Assistant of WD Risk Management & Consulting, Debra manages all aspects of the office operations. Debra coordinates client communications, report creation, shipping and delivery, travel and logistics. Debra manages the firm’s business operations including finance, purchasing, shipping and receiving and technology and voice communication systems and service.
Debra assists with prospecting, sales, marketing, and client entertainment & satisfaction efforts associated with delivering risk management and consulting services.
Debra received her degree from SUNY Broome Community College and has successfully completed additional course work at SUNY Binghamton.
